We cap our own builds at 256GB. Larger cards technically work but get flaky on a 20-year-old controller — slow indexing, occasional dropouts, and the odd corrupted library.
Moderate. The hard part is opening the housing without marking it — the end caps are glued and the aluminum body scratches if you get impatient.
Yes. Once the adapter is in, plug the iPod into a computer and run a full restore through iTunes (or Finder on newer Macs).
Our 550mAh batteries fit iPod Mini 1st and 2nd Generation, model A1051 / EC003. They will not fit a Nano, Classic or Touch.
