It began with one that wouldn't die properly
An iPod Mini that still turned on but held a charge for about ten minutes. A new battery took an evening, and then it worked properly again.
Then the Microdrive started clicking. Apple built a beautiful device around a tiny spinning disk, and twenty years on that disk is what kills them.
That was the whole idea. Buy the dead ones, fix the part that actually kills them, and put them back into the world working better than they did new.
BringBackTheiPod is a Los Angeles shop. Every unit is rebuilt and bench tested by hand here — nothing is drop-shipped, nothing is farmed out. Every order we have shipped has come back with positive feedback, without exception.
The shortcuts we skip
Plenty of “refurbished” iPods get a cheap battery and a wipe with a cloth. Nobody reads the drive health.
We sell original hard drives too. Every one gets its SMART health read, a surface scan and a full write cycle before it is listed. One bad sector and it does not ship.
We cap storage at 256GB. Larger cards fit, but they get unstable on hardware this old.

Premium parts only
Genuine iFlash adapters. Quality batteries. No budget clones, no mystery components from the cheapest supplier that week.
Every unit tested
Click wheel, headphone jack, dock connector, full charge cycle, hold switch. If any one of them fails, the unit doesn't get listed.

An iPod does one thing. It plays the music you chose, in the order you chose, with nothing in between. No notifications interrupting a song.
You own the files. You built the library. Nobody can take it back or reshuffle it or put an ad in the middle of it.
So we keep the hardware alive. It's a small thing, but it's a real one.
